We are pleased to announce that from 6 PM – 10 PM on Thursday night, April 12, 2012 David Kumetz, a severely autistic artist will be exhibiting his original work at the Los Angeles Art Walk at 334-16 South Main Street in downtown Los Angeles, California.

David is also the owner of BisCookie, an entrepreneurial baked goods business created to prove that the developmentally disadvantaged can function independently. For more information contact Andrea Kumetz Coleman at 714-861-9829 or candkids12340@yahoo.com.

At the age of 22 David still has limited oral language skills. However, he has always had extraordinary visual skills. As a small child David would not speak. Instead he demonstrated a compelling need to express himself through the medium of art.

David started with a complete stick drawing of Mickey Mouse at the age of two. We now understand this as “special abilities” associated with Autism. He has never had any formal training, and professionals and teachers have said he has his own unique techniques and style. He works in many mediums including drawing, water colors and acrylics.

David draws every day and has an affinity towards French Impressionists, Vincent Van Gough and Eyvind Earle. He also finds satisfaction in movie posters from all time periods and has enjoyed creating his own imagery from this medium.

His unique Art and product BisCookie will be displayed. It is an entrepreneurial business that promotes a powerful new concept: Buy Blue!

This logo supports the upcoming entrepreneurs with Developmental Disabilities in advocating their inclusion in the universal dream. The goal is to have no limits economically, to achieve self reliance and to raise society’s consciousness for inclusion freedom and independence for all people regardless of their challenges.

As shown by his logo of blue sky and white clouds, David encourages consumers to reach for products inspired, created and produced by people with developmental disabilities, which are represented by the blue sky and white clouds.

The model is BisCookie, a delicious food product.

combines David’s art cards, his message of entrepreneurship while enjoying the esthetics of an amazing flavor and delectable ambiance of his product. This is a Grassroots business and a process, which soon will be available on store shelves.

One major objective of this effort is to bring awareness to the economic needs of this population. We also address the Nations need for options in this segment of society. As the National Center for Disease control recently released in March 2012, major increases of autism is at epidemic proportions. The report states that 1 in 88 children have Autism and there is a need for solutions.

This is a fresh new hope that entrepreneurial business ventures are needed as models of success to encourage a change in the publics’ awareness and attitude toward people on the spectrum of autism.

David’s business BisCookie and his art are spreading the message encouraging communities to join in “the blue family, on the blue planet in reaching for the blue sky” (David Kumetz 2012)

David invites you to see his Art and support his message online at www. BisCookie.net. Again, for more information contact Andrea Kumetz Coleman at 714-861-9829 or candkids12340@yahoo.com.
